JAMES S I was really hyped for Gosha and Melon, but the designs were kind of disappointing, especially Melon because his face looks a bit off. Gosha looks very different to his manga counterpart appearance but it’s not too bad. The premise, characters, animation and themes of this wonderful series are spot-on. Some of the character development feels a bit rushed in some parts, but that might be because of the limited number of episodes, despite there being multiple seasons. With that said, though, Studio Orange does a tremendous job at delivering an emotional, resonant and adult-oriented tale of epic proportions, based on the manga by Paru Itagaki. The characters are likable and relatable and every scene exudes a flair and a boldness with its sexy and dark themes, and I'm happy that they don't skimp on the sexual innuendo and sex-related scenes. They're all handled masterfully, though, and you are always left wanting to know more, hear more and see more with every episode. I love how much the English voice actors pour their hearts and souls into the voicework, and in my opinion, this is one of the best dubbed anime series of all time, along with Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These. I can't recommend Beastars enough, and it's awesome that Netflix (famous for dropping many promising projects after only one season) has given the series an almost adequate amount of episodes across the seasons. Beastars will definitely become a legendary series akin to other classics, and the furry nature of the show is great for everyone who loves that! But Beastars is definitely not only for furries or anything like that, it's a show that anyone can enjoy for its themes and messages, conveyed through unexpected scenes and dialogue that is well thought-out and paced wonderfully.
