      Critics Consensus

While it never realizes its full potential as a revenge fantasy for real historical atrocity, Hunters tracks down a satisfying enough conclusion in this second and final season.

Nick Schager The Daily Beast Exploitation with a sharp sting and an aim that’s true. Jan 30, 2023 Full Review Graeme Blundell The Australian Hunters is directed with some stylistic flamboyance by Abraham, who maintains the look of the first series, the tonal shifts, the juxtaposition of styles and the kinetic camera choreography. Jan 17, 2023 Full Review Karama Horne TheWrap Even though this final season of “Hunters” is a little easier to follow than the first, the series still feels inconsistent. Jan 16, 2023 Full Review William Schwartz Book & Film Globe What bothers me the most about Hunters is how it has so little to say, except that Nazis are bad, struggling to even fill up eight episodes worth of runtime. More than being offensive, the real problem with Hunters is that it’s offensively stupid. Mar 16, 2023 Full Review Adam Lock Ready Steady Cut A series that definitely deserves your time, but one that still has a few discrepancies overall. Rated: 3.5/5 Jan 25, 2023 Full Review John Serba Decider ... Rife with gruesome violence, bleak laughs, stupid kitschy pop-culture references, earnest references to Holocaust trauma, meaty moral quandaries and a depiction of elderly Adolf that’s simultaneously scary and ludicrous. Adela P Me atrapo mucho más la 1era temporada, la segunda se me hizo un tanto lenta y con varios hoyos en la historia. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/23/24 Full Review TJ T After really enjoying the first season & investing a good amount of time in this show, I'm so disappointed. The main fumble in my opinion lies in the trial at the end. The writing was just awful. Forced conflict with the judge. And then the greatest sin… being robbed of the catharsis we all deserved. Some type of moment. Well earned. With quality dialogue. Such a waste of such wonderful actors, who clearly cared for the material & subject matter. All we got was a hollow, dressed up, music pushed, reading of the verdict. I've never written a review before… and I felt so let down it compelled me to act. Too bad really, because there was so much done well for 2/3 of the series run. Sorry to be a downer. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/15/23 Full Review Tim B I really enjoyed Season 1, but found Season 2 to be a major disappointment. The flashbacks to keep Al Pachino on the show didn't work for me and felt redundant given the end of Season 1. A couple of the other flashback elements did work well, showing us the kind of personal tragedies that happened during WW2, but the price was a loss of coherence generally. And whilst I can understand why the final episode was written the way it was, I found it so contrived that I just couldn't get on board despite the obvious importance of the subject. I really wanted to give it more, and I almost feel guilty giving it only 2/5... But when you find yourself fast-forwarding through the final episode, it's hard to deny that it just wasn't very good. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/16/23 Full Review Henk W Filled with plot holes and empty plot vehicles. So far removed from any possible real scenario that the writers apperently don't even have to follow even the most basic rules of logic. The fact that it touches on such a heavy subject makes it even more cringe. Sure you can make an offensive series featuring Hitler in this time and age, but at least have something say if you do so. In purely cinematographic terms I also have to add that contrast and brightness are way off. I get it's supposed to look grim, but that doesn't mean it's okay that half of the time you can hardly see anything at all. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 08/14/23 Full Review Steve Both me and my wife enjoyed Season 1, but Season 2 turned out to be a complete mess, the quality of the film was so dark we couldn't see anything on the screen, which seems to be a things Amazon. We got 4 episodes in and got so bored with the show we stopped watching pointless storylines, I'm not interested in how the group got together, I was more interested in them getting Adolf and them getting to that point. It could have been so much better, a wasted opportunity Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/09/23 Full Review Jennie B Absolutely brilliant! Loved both series 1 and 2.
