Kooky and a touch spooky, Picket Fences marries creator David E. Kelley's earnest topicality to a surreal small town setting, yielding a series that is both cloying and riveting.

Convula Recently watching . This show pushed beyond limits during its era of time. Today it would be considered normal series. Touched subjects nobody wanted to discuss back then such as incest, transgender, polygamist, Consititional Rights, religion, bullying, medical treatments, abortion and so many other subjects. Good murder drama series. Sad this show got canceled. The show pushed subjects that occurs in someone's life on a daily basis. Also, the show was giving a sense of awareness. Molly Horan New York Magazine/Vulture Socking and noteworthy, but it's the little funny moments throughout that really make the show, not the shock sight gags. Jun 14, 2019 Full Review Noel Murray AV Club [Featured] some game performances -- especially by Tom Skerritt as Rome's sheriff and Ray Walston as its judge -- but the soft CBS style and Kelley's love of the wacky throws off the tone. Rated: B- Jun 14, 2019 Full Review Tom Shales Washington Post Irritating as it may frequently be, however, Picket Fences also seems the new fall drama most likely to become habit-forming. You may love it, you may hate it, but you're liable to be hooked. Jun 14, 2019 Full Review Travis Fickett IGN Movies It's this combination of the societal and the personal that makes Picket Fences one of the more intriguing family shows ever made. Rated: 9/10 Jun 14, 2019 Full Review Stuart Galbraith DVDTalk.com Perhaps the show's willingness to disregard realism is best exemplified in Finkel's marvelous character, which seems to represent every defendant, every litigant before Judge Bone... A real find. Rated: 4/5 Jun 14, 2019 Full Review Kevin Carr 7M Pictures The acting was decent, and the writing was okay when it wasn't shoving the writer's political beliefs down your throat, but ultimately Picket Fences was a show made for its time alone.
