Dave Willis
People had a different attitude to cartoons after "The Simpsons" (Fox 1989- ) became an across-the-board hit. Of course there had been adult-oriented animated films and programs before, but Matt Groening and company proved there was a larger market for cartoons beyond Saturday morning kid's shows. Cartoon Network's late night block Adult Swim launched in 2001 and became the home to a series of quirky, unorthodox shows. Dave Willis was a key player in the channel's success; he wrote, produced and provided voices for a number of shows, and most notably co-created "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" (2000-) and "Squidbillies" (2005- ).
