Christa Ludwig was an actress who had a successful Hollywood career. She appeared in a number of television specials, including "Karl Bohm Conducts the Vienna Symphony Orchestra" (1974-75), "Herbert Von Karajan and the Berlin Philharmonic" (PBS, 1975-76) and "Bernstein Conducts Mahler" (PBS, 1976-77). She also appeared in "Madama Butterfly" (PBS, 1976-77). She also contributed to a variety of television specials, including "Gala of Stars 1986" (PBS, 1985-86) and "Solti at 75: A Celebration!" (PBS, 1987-88). Additionally, she could be seen on a variety of television specials like "Bernstein at 70" (PBS, 1988-89) and "Der Ring Des Nibelungen" (PBS, 1989). Most recently, Ludwig worked on the Ralph Fiennes dramatic adaptation "Onegin" (1999).
