David Boutin

Throughout his career, actor David Boutin consistently delivered memorable and compelling performances, regardless of the medium or genre. He was born on Nov. 12, 1969 in Montréal, Québec, Canada. A 1996 graduate of the National Theatre School, Boutin made his film debut in André Forcier's romantic comedy "The Countess of Baton Rouge" (1998), followed by a critically acclaimed performance in "Hochelaga" (2000), a gritty crime drama about a long-standing feud between two rival biker gangs. A versatile actor, Boutin also appeared on a string of television shows including the comedies "Bunker, le cirque" (Radio-Canada, 2002) and "Rumeurs" (Radio-Canada, 2002-08), as well as the drama series "Nos étés" (2005-08). In 2008, he scored a lead part in the feature film "La ligne brisée" ("The Broken Line"), a drama about two longtime friends (Boutin and Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge) who box for living. Their friendship is tested after they are forced to fight each other in a boxing match. The following year, Boutin became a series regular on the crime thriller "Le gentleman" (TVA, 2009), as a mysterious and obnoxious double agent who is on the hunt for his girlfriend's attacker. He delivered another compelling performance in "Décharge" (2011) as a reformed man and father who risks falling back into his bad habits as he tries to save a young prostitute.
