Douglas Evans was an actor who was no stranger to being featured in numerous film roles throughout his Hollywood career. Evans began his acting career appearing in various films, such as the action film "The Green Hornet" (1940) with Gordon Jones, the action picture "Parachute Battalion" (1941) with Robert Preston and "Dangerous Venture" (1947). He also appeared in "Dragnet" (1947), "The Main Street Kid" (1948) and the adventure "Lost Planet Airmen" (1949) with Mae Clarke. His passion for acting continued to his roles in projects like "Between Midnight and Dawn" (1950), the Ronald Colman comedy "Champagne For Caesar" (1950) and the Margaret Sullavan drama "No Sad Songs For Me" (1950). He also appeared in the musical comedy "Let's Do It Again" (1953) with Jane Wyman, "The Big Heat" (1953) with Glenn Ford and the Richard Carlson sci-fi picture "The Magnetic Monster" (1953). In the latter half of his career, he continued to act in "The Birds and the Bees" (1956), the Robert Ivers crime adaptation "Short Cut to Hell" (1957) and the drama "The Female Animal" (1958) with Hedy Lamarr. He also appeared in the dramatic adaptation "The Man in the Net" (1959) with Alan Ladd and "I Saw What You Did" (1965) with Joan Crawford. He also worked in television during these years, including a part on "The Twilight Zone" (CBS, 1959-1964). Evans more recently acted in "Panic in the City" (1968). Evans passed away in March 1968 at the age of 64.
