Edward Earle was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Earle's career in acting began with his roles in various films like "The Dangerous Flirt" (1924), "Twelve Miles Out" (1927) and the comedic adaptation "Spring Fever" (1927) with William Haines. He also appeared in the drama "The Wind" (1928) with Lillian Gish, "Kid Gloves" (1929) and "Spite Marriage" (1929). He kept working in film throughout the thirties, starring in "Headline Crasher" (1937) with Frankie Darro, the Martha Raye comedy adaptation "Give Me a Sailor" (1938) and the John Carroll drama "I Am a Criminal" (1938). He also appeared in the Dorothy Lamour adventure "Her Jungle Love" (1938). In the latter part of his career, he tackled roles in the crime drama "The Postman Always Rings Twice" (1946) with Lana Turner, "The Devil's Mask" (1946) and the mystery "Dark Alibi" (1946) with Sidney Toler. He also appeared in "Words and Music" (1948) with June Allyson and "The Dark Past" (1948) with William Holden. Earle was most recently credited in "The Story of Joanna" (1975). Earle passed away in December 1972 at the age of 90.
