      Frances Foster was an accomplished actress who appeared in a variety of films throughout her Hollywood career. In 1988, she appeared in "You Have Come Back." In 1990, she starred in Leslie Lee's play "Ground People." Foster's early roles were in comedies like "Cops and Robbers" (1973) and "A Piece of the Action" (1977) starring Sidney Poitier. She also was featured in the miniseries "King" (1977-78). She also appeared in the TV movie "The Neighborhood" (NBC, 1981-82). She worked in series television while getting her start in acting, including a part on "Our Street" (PBS, 1971-75). She continued to work steadily in film throughout the eighties, appearing in "Streets of Gold" (1986), "Enemy Territory" (1987) and "Five Corners" (1988). She also landed a role in the miniseries "North and South" (1985-86). Nearing the end of her career, she continued to act in the Denzel Washington biopic drama "Malcolm X" (1992), "The Distinguished Gentleman" (1992) with Eddie Murphy and "Crooklyn" (1994) with Alfre Woodard. She also appeared in the crime drama "Clockers" (1995) with Harvey Keitel. Foster last acted in the dramatic adaptation "The Juror" (1996) with Demi Moore. Foster was married to Morton Goldsen and had one child. Foster passed away in June 1997 at the age of 73.
