Gayla Goehl

Best known for her offscreen coaching of child performers, actress Gayla Goehl has worked in many fields since her graduation from Western Illinois University. Though fourteen years would pass between her first uncredited bit film part in 1991 and her next onscreen appearance, she accomplished plenty during that time as an acting coach. Goehl began teaching while still in college, so it was only to be expected that she would continue that career in New York and later in Los Angeles. While her classes have encompassed topics ranging from how to audition to lessons in relaxation, it's her work with young actors that has kept her most in demand, including helping prepare actor Joel Courtney for his feature debut as the unlikely pre-teen hero of the 2011 blockbuster "Super 8." Her extensive resume also includes appearances in commercials for restaurants such as the Olive Garden and work in industrial films for organizations including the FBI and retailer Wal-Mart, as well as over a hundred theatrical roles. After years of bit parts, Goehl finally had a prominent film role in the 2010 drama "@urFRENZ," playing a mother who creates a fake online teen persona to defend her daughter and finds herself fueling high school drama.
