Johan Glans
Johan Glans was a Swedish comedian and actor born on April 9, 1974 in Eslov, Sweden. Glans began performing stand-up comedy in 1994, and made his television debut the next year on the sketch show "The Battom Is Nadd" (SVT, 1995). He also wrote and performed in another sketch comedy show, "Kvartet Skatan" (SVT, 2003-06), working with frequent collaborator David Batra. Glans provided his voice for the short-lived animated show "Creepschool" (Teletoon, 2004). He played recurring character Reine on sitcom "Hjalp!" (TV4, 2007-09), but during his television appearances, Glans continued to perform stand-up comedy. He developed his first stand-up special "Johan Glans: World Tour of Skane" (2008) before making his film debut in the comedy sci-fi movie "Kenny Begins" (2009). Glans made two more stand-up specials, "Johan Glans: Det Bleka Hotet" (2011) and "Johan Glans: World Tour of Skandinavien" (2013), then starred on "Halvvags till himlen" (TV4, 2013-15) as a new priest with controversial methods. Glans married Sara Young in 2013, with whom he has two children. He co-starred in yet another project with David Batra in the miniseries "Jattebastisar" (TV4, 2014), and landed a lead role in "Swedish Dicks" (Pop, 2016-present). An American-Swedish co-production and Glans' most prominent role in America, the comedian stars as a DJ-turned private investigator alongside a veteran "dick" played by Peter Stormare. The Swedish characters struggle to find work in Los Angeles in the comedy series.
