Lee Phelps
Lee Phelps was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Phelps began his acting career with roles in such films as "The Road Demon" (1921), the Greta Garbo dramatic adaptation "Anna Christie" (1930) and the Wallace Beery sports "The Champ" (1931). He also appeared in the James Cagney crime feature "The Public Enemy" (1931), "The Woman I Stole" (1933) and "Parole Girl" (1933). His film career continued throughout the thirties in productions like "Sandflow" (1937) with Buck Jones, "Smoke Tree Range" (1937) and the western "Sudden Bill Dorn" (1937) with Buck Jones. He also appeared in "Tough to Handle" (1937). In the latter half of his career, he continued to act in "Life Begins at Eight-Thirty" (1942), the comedy "Don Juan Quilligan" (1945) with William Bendix and "Deadline at Dawn" (1946). He also appeared in "The Dark Corner" (1946) and "The Lone Wolf and His Lady" (1949). Phelps last acted in the Laurie Anders western "The Marshal's Daughter" (1953). Phelps passed away in March 1953 at the age of 60.
