Marc Bendavid
Marc Bendavid was a Canadian actor best known for his starring role on the science-fiction series "Dark Matter" (Syfy, 2015- ). Born and raised in the cosmopolitan city of Toronto, Bendavid's desire to become an actor was evident at a very young age. He started acting in stage plays in his teens, and when it was time to enter college Bendavid enrolled in Canada's prestigious National Theatre School. While attending the school, Bendavid was able to learn his craft in the classroom, while additionally honing his acting skills before live audiences on stage. After graduating from the school in 2004 Bendavid immediately embarked on a professional stage acting career, and appeared in productions by some of the theater world's most iconic playwrights, most notably Arthur Miller and Shakespeare. By the late 2000s, however, Bendavid began gravitating towards screen acting roles. He landed small parts in films like "Late Fragment" (2007) and "Booky's Crush" (2009), before landing guest spots on shows like "Nikita" (The CW, 2010-13) and "The Listener" (CTV, 2009-2014). 2014 proved to be a breakout year for Bendavid. In addition to nabbing a recurring part on the fantasy series "Bitten" (Syfy, 2014-16), he also played Grant Yates on the thirteenth season of the popular teen drama "Degrassi" (TeenNick, 2001-2015). Bendavid continued landing recurring roles on television shows over the next few years, and even landed a part in the TV movie "Summer in the City" (2016). Then in 2015 he nabbed his breakout role on the science-fiction series "Dark Matter." Bendavid played One on the show, which premiered on the Syfy network in June of 2015. With his TV acting career on the rise, Bendavid landed a starring role in the TV movie "A Rose for Christmas." That film debuted on the Hallmark Network in January of 2017.
