Marco Schnabel
Writer and director Marco Schnabel received his first film credit on the 1994 film "S.F.W.," where he worked as a production assistant. On his next film, he moved up the ranks, working as a production associate on the first installment of Michael Myers's hit spy-spoof franchise, "Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery" in 1997. His association with Myers and company was cemented when he worked with them again as a visual consultant on the sequel to that picture, 1999's "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me." In 2000, Schnabel again enjoyed a boost in his career when he worked as a second unit director on the comedy "Meet the Parents," which starred Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller. Two years later, he climbed yet another rung, serving as associate producer, as well as second unit director, on "Austin Powers in Goldmember," the third and most successful film in the Austin Powers franchise. In 2004, he returned to his role as second unit director on the sequel to "Meet the Parents," this one entitled "Meet the Fockers." 2006 marked a departure for Schnabel, with him working in the action-adventure genre for the first time, and as a writer, penning the made-for-TV movie "The Librarian: Return to King Solomon's Mines." In 2008, he wrote a third film in that franchise, "The Librarian III: The Curse of the Judas Chalice." That year, he also received his first directing credit, when he took the helm of the Myers comedy "The Love Guru."
