Nanci Griffith got her start in the world of acting at the ripe age of 16. She had a part on the television special "Country Music Crossroads" (PBS, 1987-88). She worked in television in her early acting career as well, including parts on "Evening at Pops" (PBS, 1969-2002) and "Austin City Limits" (PBS, 1974-2015). Griffith also contributed music to "Cookie" (1989) with Peter Falk. In the eighties and the nineties, Griffith devoted her time to various credits, such as "Farm Aid IV" (The Nashville Network, 1989-1990), "New Visions" (VH1, 1989-1990) and "Falling From Grace" (1992). She also worked in television during these years, including a part on "Sessions at West 54th" (PBS, 1997-2000). Additionally, she could be seen on a variety of television specials like "The Bob Dylan 30th Anniversary Celebration" (PBS, 1992-93) and "Spring Break Rave" (ABC, 1992-93). Griffith also contributed music to the comedy "Wild West" (1993) with Naveen Andrews. Griffith most recently appeared on the Lyle Lovett documentary "For The Sake Of The Song: The Story of Anderson Fair" (2010). Nanci Griffith died on August 13, 2021 at the age of 68.
