It didn't take long for Canadian actress Parveen Kaur to find success on television in both her home country and the United States. A native of British Columbia, she made her TV debut on the police drama "Played" (CTV, 2013-14). That led to appearances on "Working the Engels" (NBC, 2014) and "Defiance" (SyFy, 2013-15). She then was part of a story arc on Guillermo del Toro's "The Strain" (FX, 2014-18). Kaur also had a recurring role on "Saving Hope" (CTV, 2012-17), playing Dr. Asha Mirani. After acting in a number of shorts during her career, she made her feature debut in "White Night" (2017). On television, she had a recurring role on the sitcom "Workin' Moms" (CBC, 2017-) and the drama "Beyond" (Freeform, 2016-18). She was also tapped for guest appearances on "American Gods" (Starz, 2017-) and "9-1-1" (Fox, 2018-). In films, she forged a partnership with Natty Zavitz, starring in the director's "Edging" (2018) and appearing in his follow-up "Acquaintance" (2018). She was cast as a series regular in the TV drama "Manifest" (NBC, 2018-), about a plane that suddenly reappears after having gone missing five years before. Kaur played a medical researcher whose work became prominent while she was missing.
