Paul McDonald
Season 10 "American Idol" (Fox, 2002-16) Top 13 finalist Paul McDonald was born in Auburn, AL, and attended Auburn University for biomedical sciences. The man judge Randy Jackson described as "the most unique, quirky contestant in the history of the show" has been singing since he was in the sixth grade. He also played guitar, piano and mandolin. During the first live show on the big stage, the ever-smiling McDonald wowed the judges with his spot-on version of Rod Stewart's "Maggie Mae." Unfortunately, he was eliminated in April 2011, but bounced back with the help of new girlfriend, "Twilight" actress, Nikki Reed. Reed and McDonald married in October 2011, but Reed filed for divorce in May 2014.
