Robert Morton
A television producer best known for his extensive work on David Letterman's talk shows over a period of nearly a decade and a half, Robert Morton also appeared as himself regularly on camera, discussing the show with Letterman, who would refer to him as "Bob" or "Morty." Although this was his only major publically visible role from a viewer's perspective, Morton's huge respect as a producer within the industry and particularly among comedians would see him nominated for eleven Daytime and Primetime Emmys, of which he would win two in 1994 and 2002. Among Morton's other high-profile career credits were a brief spell around 1980 as the first creative director of MTV, a consulting producer role on "The Chris Rock Show" in 1997 and the executive producer credit on the 81st Annual Academy Awards Pre-Show (2009).
