Sanford Bookstaver

A graduate of the University of Southern California's prestigious Cinema-Television program, Sanford Bookstaver is the director of the 1999 film "Scriptfellas," featuring Paul Sorvino. Since then, Bookstaver, a native of New York City, has enjoyed a prolific show business career. He has worked as a director and occasional producer, racking up dozens of TV credits over the years. Most of Bookstaver's work has been prime-time drama and comedy, and he has directed some of the most popular shows on major network television. His first job as a TV director came in 2000, when he directed an episode of the "The Others," about a college student with clairvoyant abilities. The show itself was short-lived but Bookstaver's career was off to a promising start. Following his work on "The Others," Bookstaver directed four episodes of "The Chronicle," about a young idealistic reporter forced to take a job with a seedy tabloid newspaper. Bookstaver also directed several episodes of "The OC," "Jericho," and "The Good Guys." In 2007, Bookstaver became the producer of a series called "Cane," about a Latino family working together to operate their rum business. Bookstaver produced 11 episodes of the series, and directed three. Bookstaver is married to actress Rena Sofer, who has appeared in a number of television shows, as well as feature films including "Traffic," "Keeping the Faith," and "Another Man's Wife."
