Wheaton Chambers
Wheaton Chambers was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Chambers started his acting career landing roles in such films as "Drums of Fu Manchu" (1940), the Monty Woolley dramatic adaptation "Life Begins at Eight-Thirty" (1942) and the Robert Mitchum western "Nevada" (1944). He also appeared in the Tom Conway mystery "The Falcon Out West" (1944), "Apology for Murder" (1945) and "D-Day on Mars" (1945). His passion for acting continued to his roles in projects like the western "Marshal of Laredo" (1945) with Billy Elliott, "Cyclotrode "X"" (1946) and the western "On the Old Spanish Trail" (1947) with Roy Rogers. He also appeared in "Son of Zorro" (1947), "The Crime Doctor's Gamble" (1947) with Warner Baxter and the Jon Hall western "Deputy Marshall" (1949). In the latter half of his career, he tackled roles in "Not Wanted" (1949), "Between Midnight and Dawn" (1950) and the crime feature "The Prowler" (1951) with Van Heflin. He also appeared in "The Well" (1951), the Rock Hudson western "The Lawless Breed" (1953) and "East of Eden" (1955) with Julie Harris. Chambers more recently acted in "The Oklahoman" (1957). Chambers passed away in January 1958 at the age of 71.
