The first 10 minutes of the movie was the best: very funny. Once they got to the land of the lost, the movie got really boring. And not very funny. But then at the end, the comedy got better.

I love Will Ferrell and like the rest of the cast, so I was predisposed to enjoy this movie. And there were lots of funny bits, it would not have been a great movie but but it would have been a good one. Except . . . the monkey thing. It just screwed the whole thing up. It was simply too weird, cheap and contrived of a character in every way. It just looked and acted stupid! And distracted from everything else.

This movie was just way ahead of its time. If you look at the scores when it released it was HATED...look at the scores now and it's beloved lol. It's so damn stupid but honestly we don't have a lot of movies with zero agendas that are purely stupid fun these days.
