It's a different kind of film John Ford and it shows. He doesn't seem like he is comfortable with it and it shows. It's a real dull film.

A melodrama about a mother who does not want to let go of her son, with disastrous results. It gets a bit soapy, but Ford is in fine form. Lots of great visuals in this one help keep it from getting too corny.
