What to Know

Critics Consensus

Repo Men has an intriguing premise, as well as a likable pair of leads, but they're wasted on a rote screenplay, indifferent direction, and mind-numbing gore.

J. R. Jones Chicago Reader This was too long, mean, and gory for me, though the satirical gloss and well-executed trick ending will probably impress some. Dec 15, 2010 Full Review Rafer Guzman Newsday Better and smarter than you might expect. Jul 6, 2010 Full Review Ian Buckwalter NPR The overused homages and a tacked-on twist ending are just failed attempts to save Repo Men from its own shallow blood lust. Rated: 3.4/10 Jul 4, 2010 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review Should you see it, for most of the movie you’ll be thinking about its influences more than the movie itself. And when it’s all over, it feels like nearly two hours of missed opportunities. Rated: 2/4 Aug 22, 2023 Full Review Rene Jordan El Nuevo Herald (Miami) Repo Men transplants an Antifrog of complete corporal rejection. [Full review in Spanish Oct 11, 2022 Full Review Stuart McGurk NME (New Musical Express) Standard mindless stuff then, which is shame - the set-up promised more. For a film all about a heart, it's shame it doesn't have any brain. Rated: 2.5/5 May 19, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews

Riley A Concept & Action scenes were on point, but the ending makes it lose all its credibility. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/02/24 Full Review Giorgio G It's weird how I had overlooked this movie so, so many times, flicking through the cable TV channels, always thinking that it would be the 1984 classic with the same title. Only now did I realized that these are two very different movies with identical titles, only to confuse even a movie fan like me. Anyway, realizing my mistake, I finally watched it, being delighted that it had Jude Law, Liev Schreiber and Alice Braga (I'm not a fan of Forest Whitaker). The movie is cruel, brutal, in fact, quite merciless with a clever story, and for most parts enjoyably tense. Unfortunately at the very end it becomes outrageously and senselessly bloody, beyond the level of a John Wick movie (and that 4 years before the first one of the Wick franchise) only to finish in an absolutely unexpected twist. Too cruel and bloody for me, but I have to admit, very cleverly made. 7/10 points. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/07/24 Full Review Al N I adore this weird little cult film because it's not the opera nor a Hot Topic shopper's erotic dream. Great leads, solid acting all around, ghoulish violence and humor, and last but not least: the absolute best (and possibly only) cybernetic-surgical-sex scene you will ever see. If you're a fan of poorly rated yet awesome films, this film's for you. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/26/24 Full Review Alain M it was ok, but it seemed to fall a little bit short, maybe a remake in the future will do some good Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/19/23 Full Review James S This is an excellent movie. It has a great plot, great action, and an excellent surprising ending. I will never understand the bad reviews.
