Kevin Maher Times (UK) ... In the cultural moment when Barbie has been revamped as a totem of female empowerment this can only be seen as the original feminist doll movie. Rated: 4/5 Jan 5, 2024 Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy This is considered in some (OK, most) camps to be one of the worst movies ever made, but don’t you believe it. It’s not a good film, but to its credit, it’s also not an awful one. Rated: 2/4 Dec 12, 2022 Full Review Rob Humanick Suite101.com Hell hath no fury like a scorned woman, especially one who could avoid a divorce altogether by merely stepping on you. Rated: 4/5 Oct 18, 2011 Full Review John Beifuss Commercial Appeal (Memphis, TN) Her towering torso wrapped in a makeshift sarong apparently manufactured from bed sheets, Hayes is a nightmare caricature of the rolling pin-wielding wife tracking down an errant husband. 'It's Mrs. Archer! She's on a rampage!' cries the town doctor. Rated: 3/4 Feb 11, 2011 Full Review James O'Ehley Sci-Fi Movie Page The acting is campy and the plot doesn't make sense: Hayes grows to King Kong-size but still somehow manages to fit in her bedroom! Preserving C It's true that Attack of the 50 foot woman's special effects and campy/cheesy story doesn't hold up quite well for today's standards, It's still a honestly good fun film for fans of early monster films. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Great fun! Yvette Vickers, William Hudson and that dancin' fool deputy! The rock music playing at the local watering hole is delicious! Allison Hayes goes from brunette to blonde after being exposed to a space alien that bears a marked resemblance to the late President Eisenhower. All you need to chase away the Covid blues is this movie, a big bowl of popcorn and a comfy recliner or couch. Enjoy! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review dave s You don't go into a movie titled The Attack of the 50-Foot Woman with high expectations, which is probably a good thing. The plot is pretty simple: a satellite that looks like a glowing cantaloupe descends from the skies and the pilot, a 30-foot tall semi-translucent man, assaults of woman passing by, who then grows to an impressive 50-feet and wreaks havoc on the town trying to find her cheating husband. It is filled with horrible special effects, implausible reactions to the events at hand, and terrible dialogue. Despite all of that, it's campy fun and, clocking in at just over an hour, isn't too much of a waste of time if you have just over an hour to kill. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member A ridiculous and goofy old B-Movie that still has its charm. It doesn't make a lick of sense, and it doesn't do much for gender politics, but once you start seeing that giant paper mache hand flopping around, you're bound to get some laughs out of it at least. How comically evil the mistress is and how doofy the deputy is are also something to behold. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 09/29/20 Full Review Tom M Glad I watched this cult classic. Typical 50's sci-fi with effects really bad (even for the 50's !). The acting really wasn'tthat awful. . I think the bad special effects made it fun to watch. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 04/28/20 Full Review Audience Member Just not sure if they are being serious or making a joke film. By the end of it you know that it's all supposed to be funny, but by then you aren't laughing. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
