It's not what you'd call a classic or a class comedy act, but it has the kick of an embryonic pop phenomenon. Go to Full Review

If you are not a Dangerfield fan, of course, probably nothing on earth could induce you to go to this movie. The great Dangerfield movie, however, has still to be made. This one doesn't get quite enough respect. Go to Full Review

While it's ultimately a hit-and-miss affair, it boasts enough clever bits (particularly during the first half) to make it worthwhile. Go to Full Review

Frank W. 1d I love Rodney Dangerfield, and it has an amazing cast. Yet it’s awkward and off putting. Weird movie. See more Frans B @FransB Sep 26 Mad as a hatter, off beat and very unconventional, well, everything that should NOT be hahahaha. If you are a Dangerfield fan, you will associate with this. Truly one of a kind that Rodney. Whole cast excels in character. Well written and good cinematography. Whacky and zany story, very entertaining See more Sep 2 What you would expect from a Rodney Dangefield movie. Easily one of his funniest. Lots of great one liner that genuinely makes you laugh. Recommended. See more thiago s @Thiagostone Aug 24 Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom See more Thom N Jan 22 A run-of-the-mill mother-in-law hijinks comedy takes on a genuine shine in the reliable comedic hands of Rodney Dangerfield. Mild racial stereotyping date the film as classic 1983 fodder, but it gave us plenty of chuckles in spite of itself. Wacky in the beginning, wacky in the middle, and wacky to the abrupt ending, you can take in a few one-liners, think about the alienation in a class society, enjoy a jaunty little theme song courtesy of Billy Joel and then go to bed. See more 12/22/2024 Definitely not the most sophisticated film, and if you expect that from a Rodney Dangerfield movie then you’re nuts. It’s a good time, and got a lot of laughs out of me. In the trailer, the girl got a bra on, but in the full movie you get to see her rack. There is also a scene in the trailer with people trying to sell him something and one of the people are dressed as the devil. Maybe I missed it or something idk, but that wasn’t in the Final Cut neither. This movie also likes to skip ahead in time quite a lot, which makes me wonder if they initially had a much longer version of the film in mind but cut it down during the editing process. This is one of those movies you forget about after watching, only to rediscover it and go “oh yeah I remember that”. I also find it interesting that Joe Pesci plays a character named Nicky, that starts fights with a lot of people, and also likes to gamble. Reminds you of a certain Martin Scorsese movie right? Not saying anything but i feel like Nicky Santoro is in some part a reference to this movie. 3.5/5 stars. See more Read all reviews
