Magnus K @RT49214904 4h This is a great matinee film with a great cast, Richard Chamberlain and Louis Jourdan, as well as Rakph Richardson and Ian Holm among others. The film centers around the fact the Louis XIII had had twins, and Phillipe was the first born. He had been spirited away by Cardinal Mazarin in order to control Louis XIV. Now Colbert (Richardson) together with D’Artagnan (Jourdan) wants to replace the ruthless Louis with the more generously spirited Phillipe (Chamberlain), while also getting rid of the finance minister Fouquet. So, we all know the story and this time with great actors! It is also made on location in France, with locations such as Fontainbleau and Vaux-le-Vicomte. This is a very average production, but has a strong supporting cast including Ian Holm (Bilbo) and Jenny Agutter, who for a change opts to keep her clothes on!
