The blood pours freely in Argento's classic Suspiria, a giallo horror as grandiose and glossy as it is gory.

Ronin S Dario Argento’s Suspiria (1977) is a cinematic masterpiece that transcends traditional horror, immersing viewers in a surreal, nightmarish world. The film's visual style is dominated by an intense color palette, especially reds, blues, and greens, achieved through the rare Technicolor process. This choice imbues the narrative with a dreamlike quality, where the line between reality and nightmare blurs. Suspiria is a celebration of everything that makes low-budget filmmaking endearing. It's a film that knows exactly what it is and doesn't apologize for it. I really enjoyed this film for its great cinematography and art design which perfectly accentuates the actors. I also love the practical effects and make up which really sell the film for my. If you're in the mood for a laughably bad yet entertaining ride, this movie delivers in spades. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/20/25 Full Review lyalya . I kind of liked Suspiria, but I had mixed feelings overall. There were moments where I felt myself losing interest, though the chaos and underlying story kept me curious enough to stick with it. It has a really unique, eerie vibe that works - especially for a vintage horror film. The color palette was probably my favorite part - it’s trippy and overall unique for its time and style. The storyline was intriguing to follow, with an unsettling atmosphere and strange energy that added depth. I can see why it has a cult following, but I’m not sure it was fully my cup of tea. I’m glad I saw it once, but probably wouldn’t watch it again. Still, it’s visually cool and definitely stands out. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/20/25 Full Review Alex G I actually liked this film. Although some may say that it was a bit unorganized and confusing, I’d say it’s because horror is supposed to be. Horror is supposed to be chaotic and confusing for the main character to figure out and even for the audience. Also this film did make me feel quite uneasy in a good way as everything was visible due to the bright colors and its loud music. The narrative centers on a young American ballet student who enrolls in a prominent German dancing school and discovers sinister, occult mysteries hidden there. In my opinion, if you're trying to watch something more straightforward this is not the movie for you. However, there is much to appreciate for those who enjoy cult classics and creative horror. Suspiria is undoubtedly worth seeing if you appreciate daring, cutting-edge filmmaking and are able to tolerate a lengthy, unsettling build. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/18/25 Full Review Mujgan N I love horror movies so I truly enjoyed watching Suspiria. Suspiria is a classic horror movie with a twist because it is captivating and it hooks you right from the get go. It is dark and witchy and a very trippy movie this movie can and will get pretty weird. This movie will make you feel like you are stuck in a trance almost as if you are hypnotized and can't wake back up. This movie will definitely give you the creeps with its crazy well constructed visuals and it is a must watch even if it is just a one time watch movie for some i highly recommend you watch this movie especially if you are into horror movies and you want a horror movie that is a little different than what usual horror movies are like then Suspiria is the movie for you. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/18/25 Full Review Ashley D Suspiria is a classic horror film by Dario Argento that’s all about style and atmosphere. It follows an American dancer who joins a creepy ballet school in Germany, only to find out it’s run by witches. The story itself is kinda mysterious and confusing, but the movie makes up for it with crazy visuals and an insane, spooky soundtrack by Goblin. The use of bright colors and weird lighting creates this trippy, nightmare-like vibe that really sticks with you. The violence is graphic but almost artistic, blending horror and beauty in a strange way. It’s not your typical scary movie—it’s more about the mood and feeling than a clear story. If you’re into cult horror or just want something visually wild and creepy, Suspiria is definitely worth watching. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/17/25 Full Review Andrea S First off, I love Suspiria! Everything about this film is hypnotizing, giving a fever dream of horror, drenched with a bunch of vivid colors and has the most eerie soundscapes! From the moment Suzy Bannion arrived at the mysterious ballet academy, the film plunges into a surreal nightmare where logic takes a backseat to the pure atmosphere. The use of lighting such as deep reds, blues, and greens created an unsettling and almost otherworldly aesthetic that made every single frame feel so much like a twisted fairytale! The Goblin soundtrack is so relentless, ponding through scenes with an unnerving intensity that amplifies the film's dread. While the plot is simple, Suzy uncovers the dark secrets if the academy. The execution is anything but Argento crafts world. This is not for everyone, but Suspiria is a masterpiece of style and mood for sure! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/17/25 Full Review Read all reviews
