Rated 4.5/5 Stars •  Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member First of all, I've already reported the incorrect synopsis and movie poster image for this critically aclaimed SYFY mini series. Starring Zooey Dascnel as D.G. Who hates her life as a small town waitress and has vivid dreams about a whimsical and freaky world ( the O.Z. Or "outer zone"). The evil sorceress of the O.Z. needs D.G. in order to retrieve the green emerald that will let her bring eternal night to the outer zone. She sends men to the other side to kidnap Dorothy. When a window to the other side is opened, a huge storm of epic proportions is unleashed and leaves D.G. disorriented and searching the strange world for answers. But beware, the more answers she gets, the more questions, twists and turns the story takes. Get lost in the world where "lion" -like people have their brains used to tell the future, "Tin Men" are men of the law loyal to the true queen, "Head Cases" have their memories and brains sucked out and are left with a giant zipper on top of their head. This series is beautifully shot, the special effects are breath taking, the costumes and art direction mind-blowing. There is never a dull moment, whoever wrote this version of the Wizard of Oz is a genious. If you get a chance to see it, don't pass it up. This was a fun, slightly camp, re-use of the Wizard of Oz characters, updated for modern times and set 3 generations after the original Dorothy was whisked out of Kansas.
