Audience Member The mystery here is how such a wonderful cast of crack film comedians could so completely fail to elicit any laughs from this Ealing Comedy-esque farce. Director (and co-writer) Val Guest has told everyone to gabble and Peter Sellers has decided to adopt the weirdest Irish accent to compensate for the dearth of funny lines. Only David Tomlinson gives a halfway decent performance in a role clearly modelled on Ian Carmichael. And the music just never stops being 'comic'.
