Audience Member A jazz musician obsesses over a dead woman. Nudity (and some trumpet-playing) ensue, with an unexpected twist at the end. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a slow and very surreal experience that wouldn't look out of place in 'Twin Peaks' in parts. James Darren is subdued in the lead role which he probably wouldn't have had to do if they had not have cancelled Time Tunnel. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Jess Franco's masterpiece is one of the rare films truly deserving of that overused description: dreamlike. AIP foisted some psychedellic effects on the English language version, and Franco has let it be known that he wasn't in favor of those changes, but beyond that it works beautifully. Maria Rohm is exceptional as the gorgeous angel of death, Barbara McNair provides heart and soul, James Darren does better than one might expect, Klaus Kinski has no difficulty nailing his role as a weird S&M freak, and Dennis Price brings gravitas to a role entirely free of dialogue. The scene where Rohm seduces Price is arguably the best scene in all of Franco. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member The song is better than the film. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member For director Franco, this is an all-star cast but the result is still putrid.
