Synopsis
In this documentary about Malcolm Lowry, director Donald Brittain follows the writer from his childhood in England, to the isolated shack in Canada where he spent time writing his seminal work, "Under the Volcano," to his death in Sussex, England. The film also documents Lowry's time in Mexico, where he lived at the base of a volcano. In addition to interviews with Lowry's friends and family, Brittain includes excerpts from his work, read aloud by Richard Burton.
