This movie felt older then the 90s and was limited in set, which overall makes sense but I think it could have had potential if they shot some scenes elsewhere. This honestly feels like a made-for-TV movie. The editing, cinematography, and acting all feel a little lower in quality. I can’t decide if Moira Kelly was comically entertaining in her role as a bratty skater or if she is overacting. Meanwhile, D.B. Sweeney skates along in his stock hockey jock role. And while you see the characters practicing a lot, you don’t get to see much of the actual programs, which is strange. The Cutting Edge receives an average grade of execution from me.
