Strandy85 Forever Young? Should be called 'Quickly Old'! A Strange movie! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/29/24 Full Review Courtney H Well, I normally DESPISE sappy, romantic movies! But, for some reason I really enjoyed this movie when I first saw it in the '90's, & every time after that. I thought Mel Gibson & the children did a wonderful acting job! This has always been one of my Fav. movies.... ever since I was a little girl. If u haven't seen it, you really should make sure you check it out. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/19/24 Full Review Tony M Forever Young is not considered to be one of Mel Gibsons best films but I really like it. It's a simple story but well acted with a satisfying ending. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/07/24 Full Review Steve D Melodramatic but often unintentionally funny. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member If you just look on the poster it looks like those typical hetero love story of a soldier and a woman but if you watch the film and analyze it deeper you can actually see that it's a story of a young boy who had a crush on a handsome WWII soldier and captain that was froze for over 6 decade. Of course because of the very hetero and very homophobic perspective of the media back in those days the filmmakers can't really show that the young boy is attracted to Captain Daniel that's why they played it safe. But I wish they made a scene where young boy Nat touches the crotch of Captain Daniel McCormick. I wonder how will the WWII Captain will gonna react to it? Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review robert p A poorly done movie that stole from a far superior movie titled "Late for Dinner" which is a far better movie that has a happy ending! Gene Siskel Chicago Tribune A ripoff screenplay as shameless as this might survive if the casting were particularly good. Dec 11, 2018 Full Review Barry McIlheney Empire Magazine Relying on his star name, the film doesn't have to be great and isn't, although Gibson and Curtis try their hardest. Rated: 3/5 Dec 11, 2018 Full Review Brian Lowry Variety Remarkably, the director manages to toe the line of melodrama without ever slipping over into camp, balancing those elements with humor and suspense to carry "Forever Young," if not over the moon, at least up in the clouds. Jul 6, 2010 Full Review James Croot Stuff.co.nz There’s no emotional epiphany of the mistake he might have made, just a rom-com-esque race against the clock that’s more a showcase for what could be done with make-up to rapidly age a character... Rated: 2.5/5 Mar 8, 2022 Full Review David Parkinson Radio Times Hollywood used to churn out this kind of fluff with practised ease and it's a pity director Steve Miner couldn't have found the same winning formula here. Rated: 3/5 Dec 11, 2018 Full Review Frank Swietek One Guy's Opinion Rated: 2/5 Nov 7, 2008 Full Review Read all reviews
