Harrison Ford gives one of his most compelling performances as Dr. Richard Kimble, a respected Chicago surgeon wrongfully convicted of murdering his wife. After escaping a spectacular prison transport crash, Kimble sets out on a desperate quest to find the real killer while evading capture by relentless U.S. Marshal Samuel Gerard, played brilliantly by Tommy Lee Jones. Sure makes today's streaming fodder seem weak from an acting perspective. See more Mitch C Sep 16 It's a classic 90s action movie. A strong score, some good performances and a plot which slowly unravels to a climax with a twist. This seems par for the course, but you can understand why these movies do so well. They keep you interested and invested and where The Fugitive excels is the intelligence of the protagonist and the eccentricity of the support. I don't believe Tommy Lee Jones was as good as the Oscar suggested and at least 2 other nominees were more powerful but he does a fine job of keeping the US Marshall more relatable and less regimental.
