One of the most impressive things about The Fugitive is that it’s not good guy vs. bad guy, it’s good guy vs. good guy. Both Dr. Richard Kimble and Deputy Gerard are just trying to do what they think is right. They’re also both highly intelligent individuals, so the cat & mouse chase feels balanced and exciting. And even when you know how the story ends (because you’ve seen this film many times), it’s still entertaining to watch the plot unfold. Harrison Ford plays the hero well, and Tommy Lee Jones is fantastic. The Fugitive is one of the few examples of a film adaptation of a TV series done right.
