Three young boys pool their money and pay V (Melanie Griffith), a kindhearted prostitute, to strip for them. Afterward, she drives them home to the suburbs -- but then her car breaks down. It's just as well, though, because a mobster named Waltzer (Malcolm McDowell) is after her, and V realizes the suburbs are the perfect place to hide. But things get a lot more complicated when V falls in love with Tom (Ed Harris), a single father who is unaware of her real profession.

Critics Consensus

Ill-conceived and cheap when it comes to cleverness, Milk Money is more than a few cents short of a good time.

What results is, at best, only a sparingly funny series of mistaken identities and some really distasteful hooker gags delivered by the shocked townsfolk. Go to Full Review

It's difficult to dislike the fun-loving sexuality and adventure, even if it runs on about half-an-hour too long and resolves the predicaments too easily. Go to Full Review

See more 07/02/2021 The 2 and a half stars is for the nostalgia the film brings to me. I saw this film with my family when I was a little kid and really liked it. For some reason it stuck with me, maybe because I was the kid's age. All of the stars of the film are very charming, and the film has heart. But it also is very problematic now, and very much a product of it's time. The characters are all lovable, but things like having a woman strip for a few 11 year old boys is not a very comfortable thing to witness now. And the sex worker judgements from other characters, while maybe part of the movie's message not to judge, seems very outdated. Also the assumptions that if she is showing cleavage then she must be a sex worker. Overall, if I'm being honest outside of nostalgia, the performances are the only thing keeping this from being a completely problematic disaster. Especially Melanie Griffith's great performance. See more 06/22/2020 If the nudity was much more gratuitous and the language more foul it would be a pretty modern preteen comedy! It's really not all that risque by today's standards. The implied violence against women would be more problematic than the sexual content but it's more mild than what you'd see on NBC or CBS in primetime. It's pretty tonally uneven but it's actually pretty damn funny in parts, got more laughs than most movies, 4 stars why not See more 11/14/2019 by far this is one of the most funny movies from the 90s the coming of age of these boys along with Melanie Griffith pair together perfectly if you have not seen this you must and be prepared to laugh its a great pick me up make me laugh movie See more Read all reviews
