What to Know

Critics Consensus

Bad Boys stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence have enjoyable chemistry; unfortunately, director Michael Bay too often drowns it out with set pieces and explosions in place of an actual story.

Audience Member Nice movie. Not the best, but is great. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/27/24 Full Review Ronnie R What absolute nonsense. Two men who are so self-centred and so dedicated to being 'cool' who never become cops, they are simply not serious enough. Do the police in the US really just go around doing what they want with no structure, no plans and no back up? And dodging real bullets that could kill you, and never giving it a second thought? So loving to their families but they constantly put themselves in serious danger? Are we actually meant to believe that two such reckless and thoughtless characters dedicated to 'cool' would ever rise above McDonald's? This is the only funny part of this ridiculous franchise. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/20/24 Full Review Donna K I'm still watching Bad Boys 1 (as well as those that followed), and it's 2024! I don't care what the critics rated these movies. The characters themselves make these movies winners! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/13/24 Full Review Audience Member I was laughing quite a lot. Good plot and hilarious humor. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/12/24 Full Review John B Chuckled a few times. Very cute Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/05/24 Full Review Audience Member 29 years later this movie is still fantastic. Will Smith and Martin Lawrence’s are iconic in this buddy cop film. Lots of great action and humor. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/03/24 Full Review Read all reviews
