Rory L. Aronsky Film Threat Being from Sweden, the home country of Ingmar Bergman, "The Dancer" is very patient, never cutting away too quickly to focus on something else. Rated: 5/5 Jul 3, 2005 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member I have been a dance critic/writer for 20 years (Philadelphia Inquirer, tanz magazin, other national and international dance magazines, websites and newspapers) and bought this poetic film. Feuer was born in Philadelphia, worked in New York prior to moving to Sweden and must have been a formidable force. It's a wonderful film, even if you're not a ballet fan. Takes you into what it takes to become a world class dancer. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member couldn't finish this one. I think Desi put this in the queue. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member An OK movie if interested in ballet, but too much close-up ruins most of the dance scenes... Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Interesting, but with virtually no dialogue and a lot of repetition, it drags. The most interesting scenes are her conversations with Josephson and her teachers. I wish Feuer hadn't been hell-bent on including so much of Alhanko's footage in a film about Bjorner. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member One of the best ballet documentaries ever! I don't know that I've heard too much of the young dancer, Katja Bjorner, since the release of the film, but she is exquisitely graceful and talented in this feature. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Excellent. I was really rooting for her, almost like I knew her by the end of the film. Very relative.
