Though some may find the plot a bit lacking, Blade's action is fierce, plentiful, and appropriately stylish for a comic book adaptation.

Peter Bradshaw Guardian Blade is an entertainingly macabre and excitingly staged action horror, with a propulsive energy... Rated: 4/5 Oct 27, 2021 Full Review Chris Stuckmann ChrisStuckmann.com Not only is this an important movie for comic book films in general -- it's just a f---ing blast! Rated: B+ Oct 19, 2020 Full Review Michael O'Sullivan Washington Post Blade's stomach-turning special effects, bone-crunching martial arts and cynical humor will more than satisfy any action-film addict's need for a fix of eye-popping escapist adrenaline. Apr 2, 2019 Full Review Sharai Bohannon A Nightmare On Fierce Street Podcast The MCU owes Wesley Snipes (and horror) a huge thank you because this movie is the reason they got as far as they did. The erasure is wild because it is also one of the coolest superhero movies ever made. Rated: 4/5 Jun 17, 2025 Full Review Jeremy Jahns JeremyJahns.com It's a movie where the entire cast just seems to understand the assignment. Oct 14, 2024 Full Review Rachel Wagner rachelsreviews.net the script is frankly quite dull with cheesy special effects and action that is hard to get invested in. Garry A I thought it was great. I liked the pacing, action, and humor. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/04/25 Full Review Matthew N. Great movie, hope the Mcu can live up to a classic Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/29/25 Full Review Stephen C Success in 2 hours flat!!!!!!!!!! Rated R for Gore, Brief Sexuality, Language and Strong Violence!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Starring Wesley Snipes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/14/25 Full Review Jackson T First of all this film’s actual script and storyline is mediocre at best, but that’s not where this movies shines. This movie is at its best during the incredible superhero combat scenes. Every action scene in this movie is awesome, amazing, and entertaining. Blade’s fighting style is super cool to watch especially with Wesley Snipes playing him. Wesley Snipes looks perfect for the character and has the perfect amount of charisma, he was born for this role like Hugh Jackman with Wolverine. Overall this film has pretty good acting. Wesley Snipes does great most of the time and even when his amazing one liners are a little cheesy it works for this movie. Kris Kristofferson does great Whistler, Blade’s right-hand man. The villain in the movie Deacon Frost, played by Stephen Dorff is also great. Overall this is a super entertaining superhero film that makes up for the mediocre story and partial cheesiness with awesome action scenes and a great performance from Wesley Snipes. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/10/25 Full Review Chief B The first great comic book movie. Saw it in theaters and was blown away. Still love it and don't understand the rating it gets. It's dark, gritty, grimey, dirty and badass Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/24/25 Full Review Nerd W Straight up action fun Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/21/25 Full Review Read all reviews
