Eichmann (Stanley Tucci) call the meeting to discuss the "evacuation" of Germany's Jews and other undesirables, a code word for their extermination in concentration camps. Nancy Banks-Smith Guardian The script of Conspiracy is flat and matter-of-fact, creviced by deep silences as middle management stare into the chasm that has opened at their feet. Feb 26, 2020 Full Review Melvin Backman New Yorker The result of a meeting is only as good as the parties present, their aims and their wills. Wannsee was not where the Holocaust's if became when but, rather, where when became how soon. Aug 23, 2018 Full Review John Leonard New York Magazine/Vulture ... Loring Mandel has written a script that's scary in its understatement and Frank Pierson has directed a television movie that's even scarier because it might just as well have been a board meeting of investment bankers... Brad M For WW2 history buffs. Others may find it boring. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/13/24 Full Review MG_Claymore C The banality of evil. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/07/24 Full Review David W Conspiracy is one of those films that reminds us of the mundane reality of evil. Beyond the message, the film is well-paced and demonstrates the filmmakers’ skill and talent by being engaging throughout while focusing solely on a single meeting held in a non-descript room on a normal afternoon. I would definitely watch this again. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/30/24 Full Review acsdoug D It depicts a very important historical event and is worth a recommendation on that basis alone. Kenneth Branagh gives an excellent performance as well. However, if a transcript of the conference exists why does so much of the movie consist of undocumented asides by the participants? It removes the sense of historical accuracy and moves into the realm of conjecture. In my opinion the German language film The Wannsee Conference - available with English subtitles on YouTube - is a better movie. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/01/24 Full Review Michael W This HBO movie was great. Kenneth Branagh, Stanley Tucci, Colin Firth, and the rest of the cast did a great job in this movie. This true story about the Nazi meeting about the Final Solution was dramatic and shocking. It's about their view on what to do with the Jews living in their country. If you haven't seen this movie yet, check it out sometime. It'll show you how evil the Nazi's were at the time. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/11/23 Full Review Ted K As one of the characters observes at the end, this movie is a cold depiction of a particularly economical meeting. Bureaucratic, but gripping. Cruelly historical. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
