J F @JFMyrtle Dec 27 I absolutely love this movie even though most people I talk to do not know about it. I will say the DVD version we have is missing an intro scene that I saw on the TV version. This hidden gem is so moving, and contains such an important message of grace and compassion of men in war that it deserves far more recognition that it ever received, with a particularly powerful portrayal by a post-Terminator Linda Hamilton and an equally excellent ensemble cast of supporting actors, making this single movie my favorite holiday fare for all time. See more 12/14/2021 Based on a true story, Silent Night (2002) will restore your faith in humanity. The film tells the tale of how on a stormy Christmas Eve in 1944, amidst the Battle of the Bulge, Frau Vincken, a seemingly ordinary German mother, but possessed of great strength and bravery, created a refuge for lost American and German soldiers from both the storm and the chaos, loss, and pain of war. Fitting for any time of year really, but especially good for Christmas. Check this film out if you're in the mood for a touching drama. See more 03/13/2014 Very similar to the film Joyeux Noël.
