Nick McCallum (Ryan Kwanten) works with his embittered father, Bob (Tony Bonner), at a gas station. Bob, a former professional surfer, is paralyzed from the waist down as the result of a wipeout, and forbids Nick from following in his footsteps. Encouraged by his girlfriend, Jeanne (Simone Kessell), to pursue his dreams, Nick takes up surfing and hires Tony Searsen (Jeremy Sims) as his manager.
