Audience Member This page seems to have the wrong information on it, but correct cover. This review refers to Talk to Me starring Yasmine Bleeth. Interesting idea for a TV movie. A young woman (Bleeth) gets a job working behind the scenes of a Jerry Springer-style talk show. Her first story is about a teenage runaway who is a drug addict and prostitute who has lost custody of her young daughter. As predicted, exploiting the girl for ratings goes badly wrong. The movie definitely has something to say about the ethics of these shows, though I am as guilty as the next person of watching them from time to time. What feels like mindless entertainment for an hour actually can have real consequences in some people's lives. It is easy to forget that. It's not a brilliant movie, and it never rises above made for TV level, so I can't rate it higher, but definitely one of the more interesting films of this quality (made for TV, usually shown at 12 in the afternoon when most people are at work).
