Barb C A quirky little story about a guy who has trouble getting things in life figured out (we've all been there) - Enter an adorable little terrier. The film kept me entertained throughout and also kept me guessing. I'm so glad I ignored the other reviews. So many other movies of this type end up being just so-so and disappointing. I would call it a little gem with a piece of advice you can live your life by. I really liked it. Note: It would have been SO very much better with out all the "F***ing" language which may be why it got lower ratings overall that I don't think it deserves. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/11/24 Full Review Audience Member Surprisingly I really liked this movie . The different groups of people buggin the main character money kept reminding me of the big Lebowski . Giovanni is sneakily a really good actor in everything I’ve seen him in and he’s at his best when he’s cast as the loner type 3.6. As odd as the pairing was .... they had great chemistry and a unique and refreshing dynamic . Side note ..... Lynn Collins during this movie looks exactly like Haley Bennett who I am in love with Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/18/20 Full Review Audience Member Funny and heartfelt! Great writing from Scott Caan and an especially endearing performance from Giovanni Ribisi, who is just hilarious in this movie. The main female character, Lola (played by Lynn Collins) was also uncommonly well-written (and of course Collins kills it). I would have given this movie five stars, but I'm going to be honest, the score was a little grating. That was the movie's only weak point, in my opinion. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member another pic about weirdo losers Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member I had to stop a after 30 minutes...it just wasn't bareable.... Jeff Strickler Minneapolis Star Tribune A lackluster comedy that has very little bark and no bite. Rated: 1.5/4 Apr 27, 2007 Full Review Eddie Cockrell Variety Mildly funny yet off-puttingly mannered. Sep 19, 2006 Full Review Christopher Null Filmcritic.com aided immeasurably by enjoying the little touches and all but ignoring the big picture. Rated: 3/5 Sep 1, 2007 Full Review Brian Webster Apollo Guide Could have done with a strong voice to step in and demand repairs to shortfalls that are reminiscent of what often plagues films that are too much of a one-person creation. Rated: 70/100 Jul 26, 2007 Full Review Chris Hewitt St. Paul Pioneer Press There is [a Woody] Allen-ish quality to this talky comedy. But Ribisi is very appealing, Lynn Collins is a distinctive love interest and the talk is funny and quick. Rated: 3/4 Apr 27, 2007 Full Review Erik Childress eFilmCritic.com A romantic comedy which doesn't force its charm down your throat and instead allows the viewer in to peek around its quirks and discover the true heart beating within.
