When hard times hit Swallow Falls, its townspeople can only afford to eat sardines. Flint Lockwood, a failed inventor, thinks he has the answer to the town's crisis. He builds a machine that converts water into food, and becomes a local hero when tasty treats fall from the sky like rain. But when the machine spins out of control and threatens to bury the whole world under giant mounds of food, Flint finds he may have bitten off more than he can chew.

There are many funny moments and some pleasing suspense towards the end, but as a cautionary tale about the dangers of overeating and obesity it's more likely to boost sales at the candy bar. That may be one good reason for watching it at home. Go to Full Review

Director/writer team Phil Lord and Chris Miller cobble a story around the storybook’s premise but it’s the whimsical imagery of raining hamburgers, a Jell-O mold castle, an ice-cream winter wonderland, and a spaghetti tornado that carries the film. Go to Full Review

Joaquín M @Moviessuckatthistime 22h This has to be sony's worst and best movie. I mean, look at the details of the food and it looks so real like you could take a bite out of it. But the rest of the movie is just boring as hell ( even boring than the emoji movie ). If i was watching this movie while on my bed or couch at night, i would'nt even make it past a second of the movie starting and i would immediately blackout and fall asleep. Bad movie but the details are nice. See more Satoshi i @SatoshiK Dec 10 Interesting enought. Characters are fun, and the movie itself is decent.
