Audience Member I don't think I've ever seen a film that made me feel so sorry for the villain. There may be "too many characters" for some but it's really not that confusing, and keeps the final twist more of a surprise. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Well done Korean mystery / medical drama. Creepy and disturbing premise - during a young boy's open heart surgery, the anesthesia doesn't work properly and he is conscious + feels everything but immobile. Part mystery / thriller (who is the now grown-up boy and who is killing off folks related to the surgery) and part hospital drama w/ multiple subplots ("but Dr, you are the only person who can operate on her!") Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member No reviews on "Wideawake"? What a surprise! Very good horror film..along the lines of "The Ring". This South Korea film is not to be missed. About a nine-year old boy who goes through "Anesthesia Awareness" meaning that the anesthesia did not take total effect..and he knew and felt exactly what was happening to him on the operating table. In the ICU..no one believes his story, that he was aware of everything, including the pain, that happened to him on the operating table..which changes this "cute" little boy..into a vengeful killer. Anyone who likes horror or suspense, should see this film. Subtitles in English. :fresh: Ellen Turner Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member After watching it twice, I still couldn't give an accurate description of Wide Awake's plot. It's a convoluted mess of completely unnecessary plot twists, explained during a long string of dialogue scenes while other, more interesting things happen offscreen (see: surgery, murder). The most depressing part is, though Wide Awake consists of practically nothing but explaining, hardly anything makes the slightest inkling of sense! Only its semi-interesting killer with his semi-interesting motive earns Wide Awake a generous extra star. Disappointing - skip this one. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member kinda boring, and all over the place with it's plot and multiple characters, some which are totally unnecessary. watch the american movie "awake", it's much better Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Only marginally better than "Awake," the Hayden Christensen/Jessica Alba debacle. The reason I speak of both in the same sentence is because both deal with someone who experiences anesthesia awareness. Only in "Awake" the guy is calm enough to talk through his feelings, and in "Wide Awake" the kid is screaming his head off, suffer PTSD, and then goes on a killing rampage as an adult. I buy the "Wide Awake" scenario a bit more. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Read all reviews
