Audience Member a sad story....very localise, singapore style... Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Quite disappointing considering I enjoyed 881 a lot. The direction was interesting at certain points, but the entire movie was really draggy. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member cekiny, brokat, piora i disco Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie dragged too long and I couldn't wait to get out of the theatre as soon as poosible. Royston Tan somehow was trying to an excess to fill in the plot which was a big mistake. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Movie is so insistent on inflicting and hammering the lead actress with the most horrific, hysterical, cringe-worthy & corny of melodramatics that every last ounce of real emotion ends up being drained from it. The look is polished and handsome, the music succeeds in invoking the spirit of Joe Hisaishi, BUT it is way too calculated and over-directed, even unintentionally laugh-inducing in the serious parts. Liu Ling Ling almost single-handedly salvaged it because she is so good at balancing the drama and the comedy - she can be spontaneous even in the most over-cooked of scenes. And QiYuWu has the good sense to play it subtle and ground the film in some semblance of reality. For the most part, however, this is a schizophrenic little film which aspires to be a contemporary recreation of the traditional Chinese opera, but instead resides in an awkward place between parody and imitation. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member I am a big fan of Royston's work like "15" and "4:30", however, this movie is not made for people like me. I want the old Royston back!
