Isa B Tom Hardy is such a gifted actor. His performance is utterly beautiful in this film. He and his real-life wife, Charlotte Riley, have such great chemistry. Technically, this is considered a two-episode miniseries, but I consider it a film. The great Ingmar Bergman made a few great films that were so long, they had to be presented episodically in order to be shown on television. This is essentially a film broken into two parts. This is such a touching, well-written story. I absolutely love Wuthering Heights. I highly recommend it. 91/100 Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 12/18/24 Full Review Yuliya G Best adaptation of the novel in my opinion. Love that the show hits on the important plot of Catherine/Linton/Hareton instead of just focusing on Heathcliff and Cathy. Must watch for fans of the book. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 08/27/23 Full Review Audience Member By far the best adaptation I have seen. Not perfect but a mostly faithful retelling. Tom Hardy is a very good Heathcliffe and you can never go wrong with causing Burn Gorman as a villain or complex character like Hindley. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review dk b Excellent actors in this two-part British ITV television series adaptation of the novel Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë. Intense performances from Tom Hardy and Charlotte Riley about passion, obsession, and revenge. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member With the benefit of a mini-series format this adaptation is more faithful than most to the original work (with some very notable exceptions) and the chemistry between real-life couple Charlotte Riley and Tom Hardy adds something special. I have yet to see a film version (And I've sought out as many as possible) that lays bare the raw, real, and sometimes ugly, emotions that give the book its cult status. This version has several candy coated aspects that keep it from being truly great. Maybe they don't want to make a faithful version to make sure kids can't cheat and watch the movie instead of reading the book. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member This missed the mark...it took away the haunting, romantic beauty of the book. It was diluted and drape.
