The film is made confusing not only by the twisting plot but by the varied styles of the three cult directors. Go to Full Review

Three of Hong Kong cinema's top names take turns to direct this batty heist-gone-wrong thriller, which proceeds from stylish-but-incomprehensible (Tsui Hark) through crunchy and violent (Ringo Lam) to just barking (Johnnie To). Go to Full Review

The beauty of the final showdown is that it's a form in which anything could happen. It's an emotional wilderness, a sort of invented environment that brings To closer to Andr Tchin than either of his two co-directors here. Go to Full Review

Atlis S 09/28/2024 Convoluted at times, but Johnnie To's style manages to pull through at various points. The final moments of the film like a fever dream or a start to a horror film, but the three main casts are interesting and likable. See more 09/13/2020 When the 3 directors made the 3 sections to connect into a complete story, the line cannot be connected, is this expected? See more 05/09/2014 It was a total disaster! The only segment that was worth watching was the final segment directed by Johnnie To! See more 12/28/2013 3/10: A single movie directed by 3 HK directors - Tsui Hark, Ringo Lan abd Johnny To. Direction and story wise was top notch until the final end where it gets comical and ridiculous, which is a shame because it could have turned out better. See more 03/01/2013 The flick is okay, it's a cocktail of not so fresh ingredients. To seems to have choose a cast, put them in a shaker, shaken them all together and waited for the result. A strange triangle came out. Not a must see. See more 11/12/2012 Hark, Lam (his final film) and To combine their efforts for superb directing of this awesome caper. In three half-hour segments each legendary director takes a turn. Temptation. Jealousy. Destiny. To delivers with an amazing ending. Four-bag Monte and Smear the Queer with guns! Great heist film.
