R P I think 2001 Maniacs might be my favorite movie to watch during the 4th of July season. A great comedic slasher movie with Robert England and Lin Shaye. 2001 Maniacs puts a whole new twist on the "Southern Hospitality" saying. I'll never think of it the same again. (https://foreverfinalgirl.com/2001-maniacs/) Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/04/22 Full Review Audience Member I think this movie is great Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review justin t Not the best movie of all time but still a fun and violent horror. There is some great gore, although it is slapstick gore. It is not the funniest or that memorable. Fun but uninspiring serial killer townsfolk brutally murdering people. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review steve d surprisingly funny and fun film that embraces the unintended cheese of the original and made it a blast. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Andy J Excellent movie. Maintains interest with clever ideas. A gory horror though rather than a comedy. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/08/20 Full Review Jennifer p Kinda like it some parts are funny but so gorey Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/01/20 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Mark H. Harris Black Horror Movies It's all gleefully over-the-top - from the comedy to the gore - and rife with playful Southern traditions. Rated: 3.5/5 Jan 2, 2020 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews ...riddled with precisely the sort of unconvincing and subpar acting that one generally associates with low-budget horror flicks. Rated: 1.5/4 Oct 28, 2006 Full Review Andy Klein Los Angeles CityBeat ...on a level playing field, Sullivan's remake is a better film [than the original] in every regard...Not for grandma, but loads of crude fun otherwise.
