Jason Flatt But Why Tho? A Geek Community 40 Years Young isn’t outright bad, it’s just a whole lot of nothing interesting. Rated: 5/10 Jan 4, 2023 Full Review Barbara Shulgasser Common Sense Media The movie keeps setting us up for dramatic arcs that go halfway up but don't return to earth for a satisfying close. Rated: 2/5 Nov 2, 2022 Full Review Terence Johnson Le Noir Auteur A very fun and breezy Netflix film. Aug 26, 2022 Full Review Kira Comerford Ready Steady Cut It’s not very often that one encounters a film so colorful yet so flat, but that is exactly the case with 40 Years Young. It is light and bright and very fluffy, but makes massive sweeping strokes that prevent it from ever having any real depth. Rated: 1.5/5 May 4, 2022 Full Review Roger Moore Movie Nation A drab midlife crisis romantic dramedy that’s so slow that I had to check to make sure Netflix wasn’t experiencing screen-freeze. Feral C I'm trying to learn Spanish so I watched this movie because it seemed simple, light-hearted and fun. I watched this movie with English subtitles. I thought it was very entertaining and some parts (especially in the beginning) weren't predictable at all. In my opinion the cast was great. The acting and presentation were colorful. Maybe the dialog seemed corny to Spanish speakers, but I enjoyed every bit of it...especially the grandma!! One of the main lines in the movie, "endings are overrated" was memorable and was reflected in many of the later scenes of the film. I thought it was a nice poetic reminder to enjoy life and not to focus too much on outcomes. That'll stick with me for a while.
